This course is from 9:00am - 1:00pm

For years, Black women have created new businesses far outpacing other racial and ethnic groups. This accomplishment is masked with an abundance of inequities around financial resources, leaving Black female business owners in a state of perpetual uncertainty, waiting for relief they fear will never come.

Imagine starting a business because you love something, or you’re good at it. Then, the responsibility of running a business hits you like a ton of bricks. How much do I need to make before leaving my day job? What structure do I choose? When are my taxes due? How do I register for sales tax? The list goes on and on.

I’ve created this course to help answer the questions, many business owners have during their starting phase of business! As a Certified Public Accountant specializing in small business, I understand the common misunderstandings and pitfalls that small business owners face.

This virtual class will last four hours and will cover the following:

  • Understanding how to “officially” start your business.
  • State & tax requirements depending on your line of business.
  • Financial preparedness: How tracking can help you with taxes, raising capital, and additional opportunities.
  • Common small business pitfalls, and how to prevent them.
  • Workforce: Employee vs. Contractor Relationship
  • The final hour will cover questions submitted by participants.

Once payment has been received, you will receive registration materials and class login details.
